JBL 4369 Studio Monitor is the flagship 2-way passive floorstanding loudspeaker in JBL’s iconic Studio Monitor Series. Serving as the official successor to the legendary 4367, the 4369 combines JBL’s classic 1970s blue-baffle aesthetic with cutting-edge driver engineering, including a newly developed 15-inch Differential Drive woofer, a Sonoglass HDI horn-loaded compression driver, IsoAcoustics decoupling, and a re-engineered MultiCap crossover network.

New 15-Inch 2219Nd Differential Drive Woofer — Features dual 3-inch voice coils, dual neodymium motors, dual opposing spiders, and a pure pulp cone for low-distortion bass extension.
D2830B Dual Compression Driver & HDI Horn — Combines two 3-inch annular diaphragms with a Sonoglass High-Definition Imaging (HDI) waveguide for ultra-wide dispersion and high efficiency.
IsoAcoustics Isolation Feet Included — Features integrated stainless steel IsoAcoustics decoupling feet to isolate cabinet vibration from the floor.
At the foundation of the 4369 is JBL’s newly developed 2219Nd 15-inch (380mm) woofer. Employing patented Differential Drive technology with dual 3-inch voice coils, dual opposing spiders, and neodymium magnet motor structures, the 2219Nd achieves up to 50% greater linear excursion over previous generations. The ribbed pure pulp cone is equipped with copper Faraday rings to reduce inductance, delivering low-distortion bass response down to 28 Hz.
Midrange and high frequencies are managed by the D2830B compression driver, which utilizes dual 3-inch Teonex annular ring diaphragms driven by separate voice coils and neodymium motor structures. Mated to a precision-molded Sonoglass HDI (High-Definition Imaging) horn, the driver provides uniform off-axis dispersion, high-frequency extension up to 25 kHz, and high power handling without compression.
The cabinet is constructed from 1-inch thick MDF with a 1.625-inch dual-layer front baffle to eliminate mechanical colorations. Inside, JBL’s MultiCap crossover network replaces single large capacitors with arrays of smaller capacitors to lower Electro-Static Resistance (ESR) and improve signal throughput. Two front-firing bass ports allow flexible room placement near boundaries, while built-in stainless steel IsoAcoustics isolators decouple the 140 lb enclosure from floor vibrations.
Designed for precise acoustic integration, the front baffle incorporates HF (1.5–6 kHz) and UHF (above 5 kHz) trim controls, allowing adjustments in 0.5 dB steps from -1 dB to +1 dB. On the rear, a cast-aluminum terminal cup houses dual sets of gold-plated 5-way binding posts fitted with shorting jumpers for single-wire, bi-wire, or bi-amp configurations.
15-Inch (380mm) Pure Pulp Cone Woofer: FEA-optimized motor structure delivers tight, fast, and authoritative bass.
Patented Differential Drive Technology: Dual 3" voice coils reduce heat compression and increase efficiency.
Dual 3-Inch Teonex Ring Diaphragms: D2830B driver handles upper-mids and treble with double the power handling.
Sonoglass HDI Waveguide: Non-resonant horn structure aligns soundstage imaging across wide listening angles.
MultiCap Crossover Network: Array-capacitor design reduces signal loss and lowers distortion.
Front HF/UHF Acoustic Trim Attenuators: Step-switched controls tune output to match room acoustics.
Integrated IsoAcoustics Isolation Feet: Precision stainless steel feet isolate structural vibration from the floor.
Dual Front-Firing Bass Reflex Ports: Smoothes port velocity and allows flush placement near front walls.
1.625" Reinforced Front Baffle: Heavy-gauge enclosure eliminates panel resonance and energy storage.
Dual Gold-Plated 5-Way Binding Posts: Supports single-wire, bi-wire, and bi-amped system configurations.
What recommended amplifier power is needed for the JBL 4369?
The 4369 features a high 93 dB sensitivity and 6-ohm nominal impedance, handling up to 350 Watts RMS per channel. It pairs effectively with high-current solid-state amplifiers or potent tube electronics rated from 50W to 350W.
How does the JBL 4369 differ from the JBL 4367?
The 4369 replaces the 4367 as JBL’s flagship studio monitor. It upgrades the woofer to the new 2219Nd model, introduces the D2830B compression driver, upgrades the crossover to a MultiCap topology, adds integrated IsoAcoustics isolation feet, and expands cabinet bracing.
What function do the HF and UHF controls on the front baffle serve?
They allow users to adjust high-frequency response in 0.5 dB increments between -1 dB and +1 dB to compensate for room acoustics or personal preference (HF controls 1.5–6 kHz, UHF controls 5 kHz and above)
